Who we are

SmartTripPlan ("we", "us", "the site") operates smarttripplan.in, a free travel planning tool and a collection of destination guides. The site is published and operated by Kishlay Kumar Kashyap from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to kishlaykumarkashyap@gmail.com and we will answer.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use the trip planner you enter travel details — an origin city, a destination, dates or a number of days, a budget level and the number of travellers. We use these to generate your plan. We do not ask you to register, and we do not require a name, phone number or email address to use the planner.

If you contact us by email, we hold that correspondence so we can reply to you and keep a record of any correction you have reported.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and our analytics and advertising partners automatically receive certain technical information when you visit:

• Your IP address and approximate location derived from it
• Your browser type, operating system and device type
• The pages you view, the time of your visit and the referring page
• Cookie and similar identifiers, as described below

Aggregate visitor counts

We keep a simple aggregate count of site visits in our own database. This is a running total only. It is not linked to you, does not contain an IP address, and cannot be used to identify an individual visitor.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We and our partners use them for the following purposes:

Advertising — Google AdSense

We display advertising on our destination guide pages to fund the site. Advertising is served by Google AdSense. In connection with that:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative.
• Google's handling of data as an advertising partner is described in the Google Privacy & Terms site.

We do not place advertising on this Privacy Policy, our other policy pages, or on the trip planner output screen.

Third-party services we use

To generate trip plans we send your destination query — and only that query — to third-party data providers. We do not send them any personal identifier. These currently include:

• Google Places and Google Maps — place details, ratings and photos, and map embeds
• LocationIQ and OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — place search and geocoding
• Open-Meteo — weather forecasts
• Tavily and DuckDuckGo — web search used to describe places
• Google Gemini — generating itinerary text
• Supabase — our database, holding destination reference data and the aggregate visit counter
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy. Where a map or similar element is embedded in a page, that provider may set its own cookies.

Affiliate links

Some links to hotel and flight booking sites are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you book through them at no extra cost to you. Clicking such a link takes you to a third-party site, which then handles your data under its own policy. We never receive your payment details. See our Disclaimer for more.

How we use information

• To generate and display the trip plan you asked for
• To operate, secure and improve the site
• To measure aggregate traffic and which guides are useful
• To display advertising that funds the site
• To reply to you if you contact us

We do not sell your personal information. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not share your trip planner inputs with advertisers.

Data retention

Trip planner inputs are processed to produce your plan and are not stored against an identity. Cached API responses are held for up to 24 hours to reduce load on our data providers. Email correspondence is kept while it remains relevant to answering you or maintaining a correction record.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not operate user accounts, we typically hold very little that identifies you. To make a request, email kishlaykumarkashyap@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases for processing are your consent (for advertising and analytics cookies) and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. API credentials are held as server-side environment variables and are never exposed to your browser. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
