Destination Guides

These are not aggregated listings. Each guide below is written by hand and covers the things that actually decide whether a trip works: when to go and when not to, what a day genuinely costs at three budget levels, how many days you need, what to skip, and the mistakes people make booking it.

How these guides are written

Every guide is written as original prose rather than assembled from listings or generated in bulk. Prices are given as ranges at three budget levels because a single number is almost always misleading — the same room in Goa can cost three times more in late December than in October, and saying so is more useful than quoting an average.

Where something is genuinely not worth doing, the guide says so. Where there is a safety issue — altitude in Ladakh, river currents in Rishikesh, monsoon landslides in Himachal and Kodagu — it is stated plainly rather than left out to keep the tone upbeat.

Costs, opening days and access rules change. Each guide carries the date it was last reviewed, and we'd rather hear about an error than have it sit there — corrections are welcome at our contact page.
